The National Honor Society was founded in 1921 by the National Association of Secondary School Principals. It is a very prestigious club that is recognized nationwide in the United States and found in accredited International and American Schools throughout the globe. A member of this club receives one of the highest honors that can be awarded to a student. It is an advantage to have NHS membership on a college application as it indicates to admissions officers that they are reviewing the application of a well-rounded student. The inductees are selected based on their accomplishments in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service and character.

On May 25th, 2016, after a rigorous selection process, the first 28 Saint George students were inducted into the National Honor Society (NHS).

A Saint George School candidate must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.60 out of a possible 4.00, be involved in a required number of extracurricular activities, and receive recommendation from the faculty. The candidate’s cumulative grades and activities are considered from 9th grade through 11th grade. Once the student is inducted s/he is a member for life, barring the violation of a school rule. The NHS member qualifies for all of the benefits during his or her high school years, college and career. The benefits of the National Honor Society include access to on-line college counseling, innumerable scholarships to apply to, and a networking system for contacting other members after graduation for career purposes.
