1. Each subject has a specific amount of credits, according to the number of class hours per week in which it is taught.
2. The system uses a formula we call GPA Saint George to calculate the GPA (grade point average) per Marking Period. The system rounds the first two digits after the decimal point.
3. To obtain Honors students need to have an average GPA between 3.6o to 3.83 at the end of each semester. This is the equivalent of a 90 to 95% average.
To obtain High Honors students need to have an average GPA between 3.84 and 4.00 at the end of each semester. This is the equivalent of a 96 to 100% average.
Students who obtain Honors or High Honors are recognized during the December and End of Year assemblies.
4.Consecutive Honors: these are awarded during the End of Year Assembly to those students who in both semesters succeeded in obtaining Honors or High Honors in each marking period.
Consecutive High Honors: these are awarded during the End of Year Assembly to those students who in both semesters succeeded in obtaining High Honors in each marking period.
5. School scholarship: this is awarded during the End of Year Assembly to those students who obtain the highest GPA (grade point average) of the year in their grade level.
